Helping Those in Need – Doing the Right Thing

After brainstorming, this group decided to ask fifth graders to bring in needed clothing items for our school nurse and to bring in nonperishable items for a local food pantry. They made a catchy poster encouraging peers to bring in specific items. After sharing a quick skit and their poster with each fifth grade class, they spent mornings collecting and organizing collections. Great turnout!

2B Window: Mathematics

5.DS.1: Formulate questions that can be addressed with data and make predictions about the data. Use observations, surveys, and experiments to collect, represent, and interpret the data using tables (including frequency tables), line plots, bar graphs, and line graphs. Recognize the differences in representing categorical and numerical data.
